Leviathan model

Leviathan is an opinion dynamics model described in (Deffuant et al., 2013).

Leviathan has been also studied for two groups of agents which differ in their parameters in (Huet et al., 2020).

You can play with this demonstration application. Instructions:

  • Adjust the parameters and/or use one of the provided presets (buttons below the form)
  • To play with groups, you should choose the number of groups and adjust the parameter of each group by clicking on each group
  • Click on the run button to start the simulation and see the grid of the agents'opinions for others, and the grid of agents'reputation.
  • The black column separates the matrix of agent's opinion for each other (a square represents the opinion of agent x for agent y) from the column describing agent's reputation. Value goes from dark red (very positive) to dark blue (very negative).
  • If you click on the pause button, you will pause the simulation and see a graph of the individuals
